Wow, that last blog was a little long... lets try to keep this one a little more reasonable shall we?
So I was in my Integrated Marketing Communications class the other day and while we were looking at different types of traditional advertising in newspapers, on radio, billboards, and that kinda thing I had a thought.
Are we learning what is GOING to work for us, or what DID work for people. At no point have we learnt anything about new methods of street marketing or the idea generation process that comes up with these unique eye catching successful methods. I understand that to know how to do physics you have to know that 1+1=2, and that with this basic education and our own personal growth will ultimately be what makes us successful and stand out from the rest. But why are we not being taught the things that will make us stand out from the rest?
With this in mind I have taken it upon myself to read, watch, and view as much 'other' marketing methods as I can. This blog will be a way for me to get feedback from YOU about concepts, what works, what doesn't, and THIS will be my education. Some of you know about my recent obsession (definitely the wrong word... creepy) with Sam Ewen and the Interference inc. way of marketing, so he/they will be a heavy influence on the first couple of blogs until my wings are spread.
I was about to post a link to their website, but since I'll probably talk about them somewhat soon I'll wait for it.
