Planet Earth

After catching bits and pieces of Planet Earth when it was on the Discovery Channel, I was desperately looking to watch the entire set. Then my sister got it for Christmas and my jealousy started. Well it is now the end of April and I FINALLY got a hold of the set. I just started watching it (3 hour session) and my amazement has not subsided.

If you have never heard of Planet Earth, you are missing one of the most spectacular documentaries ever done. This thing is serious. The box set includes approximately 40 hous, yes two complete days, of high definition filmed specticals that will repeatidly make you say "whoa", or "oh my god", or nothing at all as you watch in amazement.

Completed in 2006 by the BBC, it takes an indepth (understatement) look at everthing that is amazing in the world and things you would never have thought amazing until you view this. With six DVD's in the initial Planet Earth, and three "episodes" on each DVD it may seem long. But done in one hour segments, you will find yourself reaching back into the box for another disc as you notice your day just went by.

The pure grandness of the video work and the captivating narration just grabs you and holds on. Borrow, buy, or rent this box set. You can get the Planet Earth by itself, or the 'entire' set which includes the other collections done by BBC including 'The Blue Planet: Seas of Life', 'The Life of Birds', and 'The Life of Mammals'. At a cost of about $100cdn, it is well worth the investment.
